Health
The "La Milagrosa" Center operates
a ambulatory medical post qualified by the Ministry of Health and
Social Development as an "Ambulatorio Rural Tipo II", dependant
of the Sanitary District Nš5 (Cedeņo District) to which it reports
all medical and epidemiological information. The objective is to
provide medical, sanitary and dental attention, with special emphasis
on the preventive information, that incentive in the community individual
and collective behaviors deriving in healthy living conditions.
More specifically :
· Promote compliance with basic rules of personal and collective
hygiene in order to minimize illnesses.
· Provide consultations for healthy children and adults in order
to detect anomalies early and apply adequate treatment.
· Attend patients, children and adults, in consultation for specific
pathologies and refer them to other centers of health for the cases
requiring special care.
· Carry out laboratory analysis that allow to orient, corroborate
or supplement diagnoses for application of adequate treatment.
· Promote the construction of latrines and create conscience on
the importance of their use.
· Keep registrations of morbi-mortality in the area of influence
of the Project, in order to implement a program of medical attention
fitting the necessities of the area.
· Receive the emergencies presented at the medical post and transfer
the patients that require hospital attention, after stabilizing
them.
· Provide a quality odontological service
in order to guarantee the adequate dental health of the population.
· Guarantee the access of the population to the suitable medications,
through the sale or free supply, in the cases of patients that cannot
afford them.
· Contribute in the execution of programs promoted by the Federal,
Regional and Local governments, oriented to improve the health of
the population.
· Keep registrations and statistics of morbi-mortality and births;
and maintain updated censuses of population of the area of influence
of the Maniapure Project, for the establishment of indicators of
health and annual medical programming, as well as for measuring
the results generated by the actions of the Project.
· Provide students of the health care area with formative experiences
by offering them the opportunity to carry out a rural stage of high
academic quality.
PREVENTIVE MEDICINE
· Pre-natal and post-natal control.
· Activities of health promotion (lectures) : in consultations,
in rural schools, to social groups.
· Consultations for groups : infantile hygiene, pre-school hygiene,
school hygiene, adult hygiene.
· Odontological Services : prevention, reconstructive, extractions.
· Visits to the communities : control of healthy children, vaccination,
program of Maternal Infantile Attention, PAMI (Governmental), investigation
of HTA, control of pregnancy of low risk, curative consultation,
programs for eliminating parasites, lectures on health education,
promotion of activities of the Center, application of fluor in the
schools and in the indigenous communities, extraction of non recoverable
teeth or promotion of dental services for repair of recoverable
teeth.
