It is known that low educational attainment and poor quality and unsuitable education are among the most relevant causes of rural poverty. Within the Region, there are seven elementaryschoolslocatedatManiapure,ElZamuro,Cerro Aislado, La Emilia, Aguas Negras, El Guarray and El Ciruelo that are only up to 6th grade.

At Maniapure, the Unidad Educativa Maniapure, attached to the Ministry Of Education, Culture, And Sports, was established in 1986 and currently has an enrollment of over 120 students from both Elementary and High School. Most children ride bicycles to school and for some the ride to school takes even 1 hour.

Considering the relevant role of education, Fundación Proyecto Maniapure has established strategic alliances with special organizations such as CICE, Microsoft, and Extramuro, among others, to provide complimentary training and education at El Centro La Milagrosa to teachers, students,and other children from Maniapure and La Urbana. Thereby the population may benefit from activities carried out within the Center's premises, including library services, sports, popular traditional dance and music, on-line courses, and on- line search for updated information.
